Although we use the highest quality products, on rare occasions waxing will adversely affect sensitive skin. Please inform your esthetician of all medications and topical treatments before
waxing.
If you are waxing for the first time, or if you have questions about waxing, check with your doctor before you wax. Some medications and topical treatments can cause skin to be more sensitive. Your doctor will be able to tell you if you are a good candidate for waxing.
We maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. While the risk of complications to waxing is slight, bacteria and oils that occur naturally in your skin, oral medications, topical treatments, hormonal changes, skin conditions, heat, sweat ,exercise, can cause negative reactions. These can include ingrown hair, tender skin in the vicinity of removal site and occasionally pimples and/or whiteheads. We recommend aftercare that includes use of anti-bacterial wipes or soap, an antibiotic ointment such as Neosporin,
Aloe Vera or Tea tree oil, etc. to prevent these.
Welts and itching can be an allergic reaction . You may be able to take Benadryl and or apply Calamine lotion or hydrocortisone (always check with your doctor first to see if you can use these over-the-counter medications) until symptoms subside. (Normally within 72 hours after waxing).
Do not sunbathe or use a tanning bed within 24 hours of waxing. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask.
